Workshop on Robotics for in-service technology teachers
Venue: University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Education
Dates: 20th and 22th December 2004 and 28th January 2004
Participants: 23 teachers from different primary schools
Purpose: teaching training workshop for optional subject Robotics in the last triade of primary school (age of pupils 13-15)
Contents: programming H-bridge and CMC-S3 data acquisition system in Visual basic, building models of robots and other devices, the use of AVR microcontrollers in robotics, ntroducing commercially available equipment (Lego, Fischer technik, AVR based systems and bascom), presentations of teachers' projects.
Leonardo da Vinci mobility programme phase II

Course Robotics at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Education

The one-semester course is given in fourth year for trainee teachers of Technology. Since 2002, the course is utilising CMC-S3 DAQ system and H-bridge digital control unit both developed within the ComLab as well as theDAQ software.

Programme: The use of CMC-S3 system and the e-ProLab software. Integrating eProSim simulations to practical hands-on experimentation. The use of ultrasonic distance sensor, O2 gas sensor and light gates through practical examples. Outline of the ComLab courses with some practical examples.
Ministry of Education of Slovenia equipped the schools with the Vernier sensors compatible with the CMC‑S3. The participants of the course got one free CMC-S3 system per school from the ComLab project as well as adapters needed for some of the sensors.
MEd (Science) - a two year postgraduate programme for second level teachers at University College Cork (16 candidates per year), Cork, Ireland.
Course "Biophysics", Laboratory works for students (Bachelor studies) 2001-2003 in Biochemistry and Biophysics Department of Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania.
Laboratory Course "Special Practical Works" for biophysics students (Master studies) in Biochemistry and Biophysics Department of Vilnius University. Selected laboratory works from "Measurements in Biology" were used in this course. Spring of 2003, Vilnius, Lithuania.
Short course training: Introduction in Data Acquisition Interface and Software, Todor Kableshkov, Higher School of Transport, Sofia, Bulgaria. Separate lecturers, training the subjects Physics, Electrical machines, Electrical Engineering, Machine Elements were invited, as well as teacher from high schools from Sofia.
